Overview

The creative industry thrives on collaboration, yet opportunities for in-person connection across experience levels are often fragmented or too niche. CtrlMesh 2025 is a one-day seminar focused on bringing designers and creatives together across all levels, from rising talents to seasoned professionals, for a dynamic experience of keynotes, workshops, and panel discussions.

The goal is to build bridges within the creative community, foster mentorship, share actionable insights, and spark long-term professional relationships.

The website acts as the central point of discovery, registration, and engagement which is crafted to inform, inspire, and convert.

Research & Discovery

User research uncovered several recurring themes among designers:

  • Difficulty finding curated, serious design-focused events.

  • A desire for structured, value-driven events over casual meetups.

  • Preference for seeing who’s attending/speaking, what they'll learn, and why it matters.

  • Frustration with cluttered, poorly designed event pages that don’t reflect design excellence.

These findings informed a solution that emphasizes clarity, credibility, and conversion.

User Preferences

Designers prioritized the following:

  • Clean, minimal layout that reflects modern design sensibilities.

  • Speaker previews to assess value.

  • Schedule overview that doesn’t overwhelm.

  • Easy navigation with clear CTAs for sign-up.

  • Past event credibility via imagery or testimonials.

  • Mobile responsiveness and email opt-in for future updates.

Information Architecture & Key Sections

Hero Section

A bold, immersive hero immediately captures attention with the event’s core proposition:
"One Day. Infinite Connections. A full day event to connect, learn and grow your creative network." Paired with a clear CTA — Register Now.

Navigation Bar

Sticky, minimal nav with quick access to:
Events · Programs · Past Events · Speakers · Sign Up

Speakers Section

High-quality headshots of three industry voices, from UX leaders to visual storytellers. This is a trust and value-building section which exposes prospective attendees on who is going to be speaking to them at CtrlMesh.

About the Event

A succinct narrative explaining the vision, audience, and format (panels, workshops, networking). Clear bullets make this easily scannable.

Past Events

A visual grid gallery showing previous versions of CtrlMesh which is aiming to establish credibility. Animated scroll-ins or hover interactions add flair without distraction.

CTAs & Sign-Up

Email opt-in block at the end and the sign up CTA at the navigation bar ensures the user journey always has a next step.

Design System & Visual Direction

  • Typography: Lora which is a strong sans

  • Color Palette: Monochrome base which aims to give way for the images on the site to speak

  • Motion: Subtle transitions to guide attention without overwhelming.

  • Layout: Modular grid for gallery with scalability across devices in mind.
